What is Mind You Weight

Welcome to Mindful Moves way to assist you, so that you can achieve your health goals. Mind Your Weight is a workshop that takes our approach of achieving goals and combines it with our knowledge of food, hormones and personality types in order to achieve success.

Why diets don’t work!

During this workshop we will look at your health goals and the reasons you may not have had success in the past. Many of us have tried many of those diets out there, we’ve had some success here and there, but we battle to retain these somewhat ruthless regimes for long periods of time. We eventually slip back into our old habits and soon we are back to where we started or even worse off.

Diets often don’t work because they don’t plan for you the individual. They require the will power of saints, all the while we feel like we are punishing ourselves. When we “cheat”, we are overwhelmed with self-hate and disappointment. We then just about kill ourselves in the gym to compensate for a night of enjoying ourselves. We try even harder, and implement more ruthless eating plans.

If we aren’t “dieting’ we are running around with very irregular eating patterns. We tend to “forget” to eat until we are absolutely starving and then grab for a sugar-rich, carb-filled snack. Anything we can get our hands on.

The truth is, this is a very damaging lifestyle as we continue to abuse our body.

How is this different?

Mind Your Weight involves your mind! We use techniques and tools that have proven very helpful in our work with clients with regards to goals. We then adapt this to our weight goals. During this workshop you will learn the following:

  • Your personality type
  • Your trigger’s
  • What motivates you
  • Your profile and how you cope under stress
  • How to notice your stress
  • Hormones
  • Different phases of your cycle and what they mean
  • Fasting
  • Exercise
  • Supplements and vitamins

What tools will you leave with?

Because we want you to success, we share many tools that will assist you when cravings hit and will power leaves the building. Here are some of the tools shared in this workshop:

  • Knowledge on Theta sound tracks from Prosper Program for Achievement
  • A list of foods / vitamins and what cravings are alerting you that you may need
  • Techniques to help with stress and feelings that may surface during this process
  • Techniques to steer you off the craving
  • Techniques to check which food is best for you, no matter where you are… and more

Why does this work?

Mind Your Weight works because we address the mind! Many diets and exercise programs work well on paper, but fail to assist the person with regards to their thinking, the true missing link in many eating plans. How do we tackle this rebellious mind that seeks to keep the weight on? By seeing weight loss as a threat and wanting to balance the system.

The Balance of the mind

This process allows us to decide what the best goal for our health is. We then challenge any events and emotions that may be adding to us self-sabotaging. (Read our blog on balances to understand more.)

Theta Sound Tracks

Prosper Program for Achievement allows us to listen to this sound track daily and visualise our health goal. This is very powerful as we use theta brainwaves to reprogram our mind. This is the process used by many other modalities that use “hypnosis” to help achieve goals. We often go through theta brainwaves when falling asleep. Many people have heard how people use this time to work on and alter thought patterns.

Personality Types & Profiles

Finding out your personality type means that we can look closely at what motivates and what triggers each personality. We look at how each personality type reacts to stress and what each type is likely to do. Knowing this allows us to catch ourselves out before, when we are under stress or wanting to reward ourselves so that we can make better choices, either choosing an activity, a better food choice or whether we need to implement the techniques taught to bring stress levels down.

Understanding Stress and hormones

In this workshop, we will look at how people operate under stress and learn about what happens in the body when we stress. We learn about cortisol and it’s effect on hormones as well as the viscous cycle it triggers. Understanding the delicate dance of hormones’ also allows each of us to know how to “Balance Hormones” – a buzz word we keep hearing. We will consider:

  • The female cycle
  • The different hormones
  • Hormones that cause hunger
  • PCOS
  • Endometriosis
  • Menopause
  • Cortisol

Vitamins, Supplements and Probiotics

Vitamins help us to metabolize fat, while there is a lot of research on how balancing the bacteria in the gut can help with our general health. Finding out about what different vitamins can do for us, allows us to make informed decisions when looking to achieve optimal health. We will discuss

  • Vitamins
  • Tissue salts
  • Omega Three’s
  • Fulvic acid
  • Lemon Balm tea
  • Probiotics and more

Eating and exercise plan

Leave with an eating and exercise plan and a way to test what foods are best for you to eat.
